So as the end of the school year nears, often times I hear parents get the blues. They get anxiety about what am I going to do with my child during this time to keep them busy? How will that affect my work schedule? What can I do to ensure their mind stays sharp during the summer time? What to do, what to do! Am I right?
Well the end of the school year does not have to be a blue time if you merely planned it properly. One of the things I do to ensure a great summer for everyone is to start planning a couple months before school ends for activities that I know will keep the kids engaged, empowered, and at the same time having fun.
If you haven’t done that, no worries you still have time to put a plan of action together.
Here are a list of things that you could add to your list for the summer time fun:
–Summer Camp program (if you are local, please call us to see if we have space available for our camp)
–Free and low cost activities. Often there are activities that are free and low-cost for the summer and all you have to do is sign up for them. If you have a Stars and Strikes in your area they have a program where kids bowl free simply register at www.kidsbowlfree.com for more information. Some movie theaters will have low-cost movies as well during the summer so be sure to check them out.
–Make an outdoor activity calendar. Some days you can do something as simple as pack a lunch, head out doors to a local park and let the kids play and have a picnic. This will allow them time to feel the fresh air, bonding time (during the picnic), and FREE fun. It also does wonders for their creativity. So grab a blanket and head outdoors and watch how awesome your little ones will be.
These are a few things you can put on your calendar today that will help you build summer time fun for you and kiddos and leave the blues behind!
